(Department of Design and Construction, C&C Honolulu) This project included intensive rock scaling as well as demolition and removal of over 110 GPS identified boulders that were creating hazards for the parks beachgoers. After the scaling work was complete, rock dowels and welded wire mesh were installed and shotcreted to fill hazardous voids in the rock face. After the structural shotcrete was sprayed, the surface layer was then sculpted, stained, and textured to match the existing natural landscape and create a seamless and invisible transition from natural rock into shotcrete surface.
